Job summary

UNC Health in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant II, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient hematology/oncology clinic. Under supervision of a provider and clinic manager, you will assist with patient intake, procedures, and care coordination.

The role requires at least one year of MA experience, certification by AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NRCMA/NCMA, and BLS. Completion of an accredited MA program is preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of full-time Medical Assistant experience.
• Certification by AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NRCMA/NCMA required or pending.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC required.
• MA program accreditation preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Rooming and intake with vital signs and data collection.
• Collect patient medical and social history and review meds.
• Assist with procedures and phlebotomy as directed.
• Perform tests such as EKG or eye exams under supervision.
• Prepare and stock exam rooms and assist with registrations.
• Provide after-visit instructions and patient education.
• Support clinic safety, audits, and supply ordering.
