Job summary

UNC Health Family Medicine at Pittsboro is hiring a Medical Assistant II, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic. Under supervision, you will assist providers with patient care, perform rooming, data collection, phlebotomy, and prepare exam rooms.

Qualifications include at least one year of Medical Assistant experience, certification by AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NCMA, BLS, and completion of a Medical Assisting program (CAAHEP/ABHES preferred).

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting program strongly preferred but not required.
• Certification by AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NCMA required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform rooming and intake, collect vital signs and data.
• Collect patient medical/social history and medications.
• Assist provider during treatments and procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Administer medications under provider direction.
• Conduct tests (e.g., EKG, eye exams) under supervision.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms.
• Provide post-visit instructions and education.
