Job summary

Cone Health Medical Group is seeking a Clinical Medical Assistant Certified II to deliver team-based patient care under provider direction in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

You will collect patient information, prepare exam spaces, perform selected procedures, and support scheduling, referrals, and documentation in the EMR. A CMA/RMA certification and CPR are required, with a 90‑day competency path.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: Associate Degree in Medical Assisting.
• Two years of experience as a Medical Assistant Certified.
• Participation in a clinical orientation, competency evaluation, and ability to pass a clinical skills assessment and medication administration test within 90 days of hire.
• Certification as CMA/RMA and CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to comprehensive patient assessments by collecting and documenting biomedical, psychological, social, and cultural information.
• Prepares patients, equipment, and exam spaces for specialty procedures and ensures readiness.
• Supports preventive care activities, including screenings and health maintenance tasks.
• Independently recognizes abnormal findings and reports them to the provider.
• Performs assigned clinical procedures after training (e.g., 12-lead EKGs, point-of-care testing, select respiratory care).
• Maintains exam rooms and manages supplies for efficient clinic operations.
• Assists with specimen collection, labeling, processing, and routing per safety standards.
• Documents accurately in the EMR and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Administers medications and vaccines under provider direction.
