Job summary

Atlantic Medical Group in Linden, NJ is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant I to provide hands-on clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced ambulatory setting under physician supervision. You will gather vitals, assist with examinations, prepare lab specimens, and help coordinate referrals while delivering compassionate patient care.

The role requires a high school diploma, national CCMA certification, and EPIC EMR experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• National Certification CCMA from: NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT.
• Precertification agreement must be signed if expired or receiving certification within 60 days of employment.
• Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field preferred.
• 1 year of experience in Health Care services.
• 2+ Years Experience in outpatient, ambulatory setting.
• BLS upon hire.
• EPIC or similar EMR system experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools.
• Record medical information and test results, conduct patient interviews, take and record vital signs, collect specimens, and administer medication under physician supervision.
• Assist with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, ensure verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards.
• Guide patients through the health care system and help patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time.
• Taking vital signs and establishing baselines prior to exams.
• Assisting with examinations and working closely with physicians to perform clinical tasks.
• Collecting and preparing laboratory samples and instructing patients on sample collection.
• Provide emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation per plan of care.
• Assist with referrals to appropriate specialists.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
