Job summary

Physicians Regional Healthcare System seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to deliver patient care under medical supervision. The role supports clinical and administrative operations, assists with procedures, maintains exam rooms, and ensures efficient clinic flow while delivering excellent patient service.

The position requires CMA certification (AAMA) or NCMA, BCLS and a willingness to work in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Qualifications

• 0–1 years of experience in a medical practice or externship.
• Knowledge of medical office procedures and patient care techniques.
• Proficiency in medical record systems and Microsoft Office/Google Suite.
• Understanding of medical terminology and infection control.
• Strong interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform care according to age-specific competencies.

Responsibilities

• Assists providers with clinical procedures (vital signs, wound care, injections, phlebotomy, vaccines, EKGs).
• Prepares and cleans exam rooms for patient visits and procedures.
• Performs patient intake duties, including reporting test results and triage.
• Reviews and maintains daily logs and documentation.
• Supports administrative duties: pre-registering patients, scheduling, referrals, eligibility verification, and communications.
• Maintains an organized workload with prompt, courteous service to providers and patients.
• Monitors and requisitions clinic supplies and equipment.
• Educates patients on medications, diets, and health topics.
• Performs other duties and maintains regular attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
