VitalCore Health Strategies in Georgetown, DE, is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support Physicians and Nurses in meeting patient health care needs. The role is full-time at Sussex Correctional Institution with competitive wages and comprehensive benefits.

Qualified candidates hold an active National Certification as a Medical Assistant, a high school diploma or equivalent, and are able to obtain security clearance. Phlebotomy and acute care experience are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Active National Certification as Medical Assistant is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirements.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Acute care experience preferred.
• MA with MAT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Takes vital signs, height and weight.
• Assists with PPDs and EKGs.
• Draws blood.
• Measures and records intake and output.
• Assists with patient treatments such as dressing changes and tracheostomy care.
• Follows Universal Precautions and infection control procedures.
• Schedules appointments.
• Adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills.
• Receives CPR recertification training annually.
• Assists in cleaning, sterilizing and securing equipment.
