Job summary

Ascension Medical Group Clinic in Indianapolis seeks a Medical Assistant to support providers across multiple locations in the greater North Indianapolis region. The role involves assisting with examinations, taking vitals, recording medical histories, and transcribing orders, while maintaining sterile rooms and efficient clinic flow.

You will join a Float Pool Staffing department with a 40-hour week, 7A-7P schedule, and optional weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• BLS Provider certification within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Medical Assistant certification within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures while maintaining sterile and organized treatment rooms.
• Streamline clinic workflow by interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and accurately recording medical histories in patient charts.
• Transcribe provider orders for labs, imaging, and prescriptions, ensuring all diagnoses and follow-up instructions are documented with high precision.
• Manage essential administrative duties, including medical record maintenance, clerical support, and inventory management to ensure seamless clinic daily operations.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Certified or Registered both accepted.

Education
