Ascension Health is hiring at Joshua Max Simon Primary Care Center in Indianapolis, IN for a Medical Assistant role supporting OBGyn care. You will assist physicians, manage patient flow, document histories, and handle medical records within a busy primary care setting.

The position emphasizes accurate transcription of orders, coordination of tests, and maintaining clean, organized treatment rooms to ensure smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification required within 30 days of hire.
• One or more of the following: Medical Assistant (Registered) or Certified Medical Assistant within 90 days of hire.
• High School diploma or equivalent, or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience.
• Licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures while maintaining sterile and organized treatment rooms.
• Streamline clinic workflow by interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and accurately recording medical histories in patient charts.
• Transcribe provider orders for labs, imaging, and prescriptions, ensuring diagnoses and follow-up instructions are documented.
• Manage essential administrative duties, including medical record maintenance, clerical support, and inventory management.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
• Medical Assistant specializing in Registered obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Certified Medical Assistant obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

What additional preferences we're seeking

MA experience preferred.
