Job summary

Ascension Health in Carmel, IN, within Ascension Medical Group Clinic, seeks an experienced leader to coordinate daily physician-practice operations and oversee staff orientation, training, and performance feedback.

The role emphasizes inventory control, quality oversight, and adherence to clinical standards while supporting a collaborative team focused on patient care. This is a full-time, on-site position in Internal Medicine.

Qualifications

  • BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date
  • Medical Assistant certification or equivalent prior to hire
  • Education requirements as stated: HS diploma with 2 years experience OR Associate/Technical degree with 1 year experience OR 5 years related experience

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily shift activities and workflow for physician practice operations
  • Oversee orientation and training of new associates and provide performance feedback
  • Manage clinical inventory, monitor supply levels, place orders and organize medication samples
  • Ensure compliance with clinical procedures and operational standards

How you’ll make an impact in this role

  • Operational Leadership: Coordinate daily shift activities and workflow for physician practice operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and according to policy.

  • Team Development: Oversee the orientation and training of new associates while providing performance feedback and technical guidance to the team.

  • Resource Management: Manage clinical inventory by monitoring supply levels, placing orders, and organizing medication samples.

  • Quality Oversight: Assign and review staff work to ensure compliance with clinical procedures and operational standards.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

  • Medical Assistant obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

What additional preferences we're seeking

Experienced MA. Leadership experience preferred.
