Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for a float pool role with primary work in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Chesapeake. Travel to other sites may be required based on staffing requests. A sign-on bonus is offered to qualified candidates.

Required CMA/CCMA/RMA/EMT-Basic certification, high school diploma or equivalent, and 1 year of clinical or administrative experience. BLS within 90 days of hire; phlebotomy experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
• Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic certification is required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire is required.
• 1 year of clinical or administrative experience is preferred; phlebotomy experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care and administrative/clerical tasks under supervision of a Physician, NP/PA, RN, or LPN.
• Support travel to different sites within Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake as needed for staffing.

Overview

Sentara Medical Group is currently offering a Sign on Bonus to Qualified Medical Assistants!

Must be either a CMA, CCMA, RMA, or EMT-Basic.

This is a full-time Float Pool position. Primary work is in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, & Chesapeake . Travel to other areas required based on staffing requests.

Standard Working Hours: Monday through Friday-8,10, or 12-hour shifts

Differential pay is provided for the travel and flexibility that is needed for this role.

Overview

Perform patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic (Required)

BLS is required within 90 days of hire.

Experience

1 year of clinical or administrative experience

Phlebotomy experience (Preferred)

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $21.69 - $32.14 hourly.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
