Job summary

Sentara Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant for a flexi Float Pool position with primary locations in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Chesapeake. Must be CMA, CCMA, RMA, or EMT-Basic and have 1 year of clinical or administrative experience. Travel to Edenton, Elizabeth City, or Moyock sites may be required.

Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 12 hours weekly with travel and flexibility compensated by a differential. Competitive benefits available.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 90 days of hire
• 1 year of clinical or administrative experience
• Phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Preferred)

• Perform patient care and administrative/clerical tasks under supervision.
• Contribute to procedures and patient flow as trained and competent.
• Coordinate with physicians, NP/PA, RN, or LPN to deliver care.

Overview

Sentara Medical Group is seeking to hire a Medical Assistant!

Must be either a CMA, CCMA, RMA, or EMT-Basic.

This is a flexi Float Pool position. Primary work locations: Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake.

May require travel to Edenton, Elizabeth City, or Moyock sites based on staffing needs.

Standard Working Hours: Monday through Friday, 12 hours weekly

Differential pay is provided for the travel and flexibility that is needed for this role.

Overview

Perform patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic (Required)

BLS is required within 90 days of hire.

Experience

1 year of clinical or administrative experience

Phlebotomy experience (Preferred)

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $21.69 - $32.14 hourly.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
