Job summary

Sentara Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a flexi Float Pool. Primary work locations include Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Chesapeake, with travel to Edenton, Elizabeth City, or Moyock as needed.

The role requires CMA/CCMA/RMA or EMT-Basic certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least 1 year of clinical or administrative experience. BLS is required within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic is required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year of clinical or administrative experience.
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care and administrative tasks under supervision of clinician.
• Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, or physician assistants as needed.
• Maintain patient records and complete clerical duties.

This is a flexi Float Pool position. Primary work locations: Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake.

May require travel to Edenton, Elizabeth City, or Moyock sites based on staffing needs.

Standard Working Hours: Monday through Friday, 12 hours weekly

Differential pay is provided for the travel and flexibility that is needed for this role.

Overview

Perform patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

• Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic (Required)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire.

Experience

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $21.69 - $32.14 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
