A leading healthcare provider in New Jersey is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team. The role involves providing patient care, assisting with exams and procedures, and ensuring quality services. Candidates must have a high school diploma, complete a Medical Assistant program, and possess relevant certifications. The position requires teamwork, customer service skills, and the ability to handle a high volume of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing patient care and support within the ambulatory setting.
The Medical Assistant accurately completes patient interviews, collects specimens, assists providers with exams and procedures, maintains inventory, provides patient education, and ensures quality care and services as directed by the physician. This role also involves performing phlebotomy, CLIA waived testing, specimen collection, EKGs, drug/alcohol testing, splinting, and administering formulary medications safely under physician and departmental protocols.
This position supports organizational goals through quality customer service, participation in performance improvement, and teamwork.
Demonstrates competencies as per the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
Potential exposure to hazards, infectious diseases, hazardous substances. Requires reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs frequently, 100 lbs occasionally. Long periods of telephone work.
