Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our interdisciplinary outpatient care team. You will assist physicians, prepare patients for exams, perform basic lab duties, and help maintain comprehensive patient records.

The ideal candidate has CMA or CCMA certification, current CPR, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with strong interpersonal skills and compassion for patients of all ages.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or CCMA certification required, AAMA or NHA certification must be obtained within 6 months if certified by another agency.
• Current CPR certification required or obtained within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams and basic lab tests.
• Assist physicians and healthcare team with treatment/protocol
• Maintain patient records and obtain medical histories.
