Job summary

MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) in Columbia, SC seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support outpatient care. You will interview patients, measure vital signs, and input data into medical records under physician direction.

You will prepare examination rooms and maintain basic computer competencies to support efficient patient flow. Minimum education includes a high school diploma and completion of an accredited medical assisting program; BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
• Certification as CCMA, CMA, NAHP or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs; records information to the medical record.
• Prepares treatment rooms for examination and assists clinicians.
• Reports to Outpatient Clinic Manager; maintains clear communication.
• Basic computer skills are required and annual competencies must be maintained.
