Job summary

MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support outpatient care under physician supervision. The role includes interviewing patients, taking vital signs, and preparing treatment rooms in a PRN, on-site capacity at Beaufort Vascular Surgery.

Competitive hourly pay, 19 scheduled hours per week, and opportunities for ongoing training and professional development are provided by the MCP network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
• Certification as CCMA/CMA/NAHP through AMT/AAMA/NHA/MedCA is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and records information to the medical record.
• Measures vital signs (pulse, temperature, BP, etc.) and observes patients.
• Prepares examination rooms and assists in procedures.
• Performs basic computer data entry and supports documentation.
• Maintains annual competencies and communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing.
