Job summary

Ascension Calumet Clinic in Chilton, WI is seeking a Full-time Medical Assistant for the Family Practice department, with a Day shift 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday–Friday. This role supports patient care and administrative tasks within a busy clinic setting.

You will document patient histories and vital signs, transcribe orders, coordinate tests, maintain a clean and safe environment, and assist in ensuring smooth provider workflows and patient experiences.

Qualifications

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more Medical Assistant credentials required/certifications accepted as listed in the ad.
  • Education equivalency can be used in lieu of education or experience where applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Support patient care by assisting with treatments and conducting clinical assessments, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience.
  • Maintain accurate medical records by documenting patient histories, vital signs, and provider encounters to support clinical decision-making.
  • Transcribe orders, coordinate tests, and clearly communicate follow-up instructions to providers and patients.
  • Manage clinical resources and treatment areas to maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for all patients.
  • Provide essential administrative support to keep the department running efficiently.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
  • Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date OR job transfer date. Registered Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Registry of Medical Assistants also accepted.
  • Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Medical Technologists (AMT) obtained prior to hire date OR job transfer date.
  • Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date OR job transfer date.
  • Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) obtained prior to hire date OR job transfer date.

Education

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education OR experience, if applicable.
