Work schedule: 7:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & 7:30 am - 12:30 pm Thursday

Qualifications

Medical Assistant curriculum must include pharmacology and medication administration. Certification/registry must be obtained by the last day of the sixth month of hire, with an education agreement signed.

• Experience: Previous work in a medical setting is preferred.
• Alternative Work Experience: Employed as a supervised medical assistant for a minimum of 1 year (NHA or NHCWA) within the last 3 years, 2 years (NCCT, NAHP), 3 years (ARMA), or 5 years (AMT) within the last 7 years. No more than 2 of those years as an instructor in a post-secondary medical assistant program.
• Or graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing with experience in clinical (including medication administration) and administrative duties.

• Licensure/Certification:
• CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
• CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA)
• RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
• RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
• Additional Skills: Ability to complete department-specific skills validation and competency testing successfully.
