Job summary

Vanguard Medical Group in Hawthorne, NJ is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant to support providers, prep exam rooms, take vitals, and assist with procedures. The role requires evening availability until 8pm and rotating weekend shifts with a $2+ per hour differential after 6pm and on weekends.

Candidates should have a CMA/RMA certification, 1+ year experience, and EMR proficiency (Athena a plus). Strong communication and teamwork are essential for delivering patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• EMR proficiency and experience with common EMR systems.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Take and record vital signs, medical history, medication reconciliation, and chief complaint.
• Administer medications and injections per provider instruction and document in the EMR.
• Perform in-office testing (e.g., EKGs, urine dips, strep tests) and assist with phlebotomy as needed.
• Assist with minor procedures including sterilization of equipment, wound care, and dressing changes.
• Provide patient education on medications and care plans.
