Overview

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Endocrinology

Location: Cedar Rapids, IA

Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Role Summary: As a CMA in Endocrinology, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients with endocrine disorders. Your responsibilities include direct patient care, education, and coordination of services to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Perform patient assessments and assist in developing and implementing individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Educate patients and families on disease management, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence.
  • Coordinate care with other healthcare providers and community resources.
  • Accurately and promptly document patient information in the electronic health record.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to regulatory standards.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Current CMA/RMA Certification through AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCT.
  • High school diploma.
  • BLS and Mandatory Reporter certifications.
  • Knowledge of clinical skills, procedures, diagnoses, and treatments.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to assist providers professionally and effectively.
