Duke Health seeks a Certified Medical Assistant at Medicine Specialties of South Durham – Endocrine, Durham, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team, providing direct and indirect patient care.

Responsibilities include taking histories and vitals, administering medications as directed, telephoning prescriptions to a pharmacy, collecting specimens and preparing patients for exams; supports physicians and nurses in a fast-paced clinic.

Formación

• Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Level I: no experience; Level II: 1 year clinical MA experience.
• Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.
• BLS required.

Responsabilidades

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant in our Medicine Specialties of South Durham – Endocrine located in Durham, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team to provide direct and indirect care to patients.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist Medical and Nursing Staff in a variety of tasks including: Taking medical histories and recording vital signs,
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician
• Telephone prescriptions to a pharmacy
• Perform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the physician
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
• Explaining treatment procedures to patients
• Preparing patients for examinations and procedures
  

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
• High school or GED graduation required.
• Level I -- No experience required.
• Level II -- 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified in a clinical setting.
• Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.
• BLS required.

JOB HOURS

The schedule for this position would be day shifts Monday to Friday.
