Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City, IL is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant/Medical Assistant to perform administrative and clinical duties, obtain clinical information/data, perform CLIA waived lab testing, and support physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. This full-time position offers 40 hours weekly, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm, with an hourly salary range of $20.00–$28.00.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program; CMA certification preferred or required within one year of hire.
Maintains knowledge of clinical procedures and patient data collection.
Proficient in EMR and clinical data documentation.

Responsibilities

Greets patients and escorts to exam rooms; records vital signs, height and weight.
Obtains patient history and current complaints.
Maintains patient medical records and inputs data into EMR.
Assists with examinations and procedures under physician/APN/PA supervision.
Performs CLIA–waived lab testing and other point-of-care testing as ordered.
Prepares examination and treatment areas and supports infection control practices.
Schedule coordination and patient communications; forwards information to nursing staff.
