Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support clinical care under the supervision of a nurse or practitioner. You will prepare exam rooms, assist physicians, take vital signs, and help with basic lab tasks while maintaining accurate patient records.

Excellent communication and the ability to work with diverse populations in a fast-paced environment are essential. A high school diploma or GED is required, with CMA certification or equivalent preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with diverse populations.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program (preferred).
• Licenses/certifications: CMA or equivalent; BLS/CPR.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam and treatment rooms, supplies, and instruments.
• Assist physician during visits and examinations as directed.
• Take and record patient vital signs and document in chart.
• Perform basic lab tasks and phlebotomy as needed.
• Maintain patient records and assist with billing procedures.
• Use office software to manage scheduling and records.
• Ensure confidentiality of patient information.
• Support patient population with age, language, and literacy needs.
