Job summary

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of experience in a medical practice setting or completion of externship program required
• Proficiency in medical record systems and basic computer applications
• Understanding of medical terminology and infection control practices
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide excellent patient service
• Demonstrated time management and organizational abilities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to perform care according to age-specific competencies

Responsibilities

• Assists with clinical procedures such as taking vital signs, wound care, sutures, injections, phlebotomy, vaccines, urine tests and EKGs
• Prepares and cleans exam rooms for patient visits and procedures
• Manages patient intake, including reporting test results and triage
• Maintains daily logs and documentation
• Performs administrative duties: pre-registering patients, scheduling, referrals, insurance verification
• Ensures courteous, efficient service to providers, patients, and visitors
• Monitors and orders clinic supplies and equipment
• Educates patients on medications, diets, and health topics
• Performs other duties as assigned
