Rio Specialty Association in Texas is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time, dayshift role with no nights, weekends, or holidays. Qualifications include 1 year of MA experience and Medical Assistant Certification. Recent graduates must obtain certification within 60 days, and those with MA experience but no certification must

Qualifications

• One year of Medical Assisting or direct clinical patient care experience.
• Medical Assistant Certification required (RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NCRMA or ABR-OE).
• If recently graduated, certification must be obtained within 60 days of employment.
• Candidates with one year MA experience but without certification must obtain MA certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and cancel patient appointments.
• Check-in and check-out patients and enter charges/payments.
• Answer telephone and verify insurance/demographics.
• Collect co-payments/coinsurance and personal balances.
• Assist nursing staff and perform selected admin duties.
• May collect patient specimens and take histories and vitals.
• Prepare exam rooms and assist in minor surgeries/physicals.
• Administer injections, apply casts/splints, sterilize supplies.
• Maintain supplies/equipment and adhere to policies.
• Support continuity of patient care with referrals and data collection.
