Job summary

MultiCare Health System is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) to join the Rockwood Clinic in Spokane, WA. This full-time position supports physicians and APPs with patient care and clinical tasks, under supervision of a licensed practitioner.

The MA-C will welcome patients, obtain vitals, prepare for exams, collect specimens, and assist with procedures. Washington MA-C certification and current BLS are required; one year of healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)
• Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Current BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include: Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff
• Interviewing patients
• Obtaining vital signs
• Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments
• Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture
• Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency
• Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers
• Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include: Sending and receiving of patient medical records
• Facilitating patient referrals
• Preparing forms for patients
