Job summary

MultiCare Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) to join a physician/APP office team. The MA-C will work under supervision, performing safe clinical skills and maintaining contact with physicians, nurses, and front office staff.

Responsibilities include organizing patient flow, interviewing patients, obtaining vital signs, assisting with exams, collecting specimens, administering medications per state regulations, and coordinating referrals while relaying

Qualifications

• MA-C certification required.
• Minimum of one year healthcare experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff.
• Interviewing patients.
• Obtaining vital signs.
• Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments.
• Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture.
• Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency.
• Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers.
• Sending and receiving of patient medical records.
• Facilitating patient referrals.
• Preparing forms for patients.
