Job summary

Required credentials include a Medical Assistant Certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. High school diploma or GED is required, with formal MA training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports the patient and provider throughout the patient visit.
• Ensures the patient and provider are prepared for the visit.
• Answers patient questions prior to leaving; prepares room for next appointment.
• Delivers excellent patient service through phone and in-person communication.
• Completes patient registration documentation when necessary.
• Maintains clinical knowledge, skills and credentials through ongoing development.
• Adheres to DOT Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing requirements when in occupational health.
• Adapts communication to the patient population and respects privacy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
