Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at the TCP Westwood Clinic. The ideal candidate works well in a fast-paced environment, gathering information, assessing, and providing direct care to patients.

Note: All successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards, as part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Graduation from a medical assistant or emergency medical technician program
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
  • One of the following certifications:
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA-AAM) from AAMA
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from recognized organizations
  • National Medical Assistant Certification (NCMA) from NCCT
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from NHA
  • Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) from NAHP
  • EMT (EMT), EMT-Basic (EMT-B), or EMT-Intermediate (EMT-I) certification from Texas Department of State Health Services
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of related experience
  • Bilingual abilities
  • Pediatric experience, including ear checks, immunizations, injections
Responsibilities
  • Collect and document patient/family data, vital signs, BMI, height/weight, and reason for visit with accuracy
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during treatments and testing
  • Administer medications and immunizations as directed
  • Identify and document patient eligibility for vaccination programs
  • Collect specimens and perform laboratory tests
  • Maintain certification through continuing education
