Job summary

ICFAI is seeking a Certified Medical Office Assistant to support primary health care delivery and patient care management under physician supervision. The role includes nursing care tasks, clerical duties, and front office activities, with the added responsibility of traveling among Iredell Physician Network clinics.

The position requires a high school diploma, with hospital-sponsored certification to be completed within six months. CPR may be required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Certification will be obtained through hospital program within six months of hire.
• Working knowledge of medical practice; safety and procedures; venipuncture preferred.
• Clerical experience: scheduling, payments, billing/coding, records; strong computer skills.

Duties will include assisting the physician in the implementation of nursing care as directed, all aspects of the medical office, and may include responsibilities in the front office and clinical areas. Has full access to patient health information.

M-F 8a-5p

Location

The Certified Medical Assistant Float will travel between all of the Iredell Physician Network clinics based on a schedule.

Requirements

High School graduate or equivalent required.

• Preferred: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
• Medical experience required, with the expectation that certification will be obtained through the hospital-sponsored program within six months of hire.
• Working knowledge of all aspects of the medical practice and medical care including examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures; equipment and instruments; safety hazards, and precautions. Training in venipuncture and the ability to perform venipuncture accurately preferred.
• Clerical experience including, but not limited to, scheduling, payments, billing/coding, medical records, and a working knowledge of all aspects of medical office equipment. Excellent computer skills including knowledge of business software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to pay close attention to details, multi-task, and excellent customer service skills.
• Current CPR certification or willing to complete within 30 days of hire.

Physical Demands

• Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
