Job summary

Iredell Health System is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) to join the Float Pool on a PRN basis. The role supports primary health care delivery across the Iredell Physician Network clinics in North Carolina, with duties spanning clinical and front-office tasks.

Travel between clinics per schedule is required. Requirements include high school diploma, CMA/RMA credentialing, and hospital-sponsored certification within six months.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Must be a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
• Medical experience required, with the expectation that certification will be obtained through the hospital-sponsored program within six months of hire.
• Working knowledge of all aspects of the medical practice and medical care including examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures; equipment and instruments; safety hazards, and precautions. Training in venipuncture and the ability to perform venipuncture accurately preferred.
• Clerical experience including, but not limited to, scheduling, payments, billing/coding, medical records, and a working knowledge of all aspects of medical office equipment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to pay close attention to details, multi-task, and excellent customer service skills.
• Current CPR certification or willing to complete within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

The Certified Medical Office Assistant is responsible for assisting in the direct delivery of primary health care support and patient care management under the direction and supervision of the Physician. Duties will include assisting the physician in the implementation of nursing care as directed, all aspects of the medical office, and may include responsibilities in the front office and clinical areas. Has full access to patient health information.

Schedule: M-F 8a-5p As Needed

Location: The Certified Medical Assistant Float will travel between all of the Iredell Physician Network clinics based on a schedule.

Requirements

Physical Demands:

• Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
