Job summary

Native American Rehabilitation Association of the Northwest, Inc. (NARA) is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for in-person duties at our Wellness Center in Portland and the Indian Health Clinic location.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm with occasional late clinic coverage and a rotating monthly diabetes clinic. The CMA will handle daily administrative tasks and assist in minor clinical procedures, including vital signs, specimen collection, and basic testing, to keep

Qualifications

• Must be CMA certified and currently credentialed.
• In-person clinic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare clients for treatment procedures or examinations.
• Obtain visit information, take vital signs, and record in chart; collect urine samples when indicated.
• Assist with EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, hearing or vision tests.
• Perform CLIA-waived tests such as urinalysis and rapid tests.
• Maintain stock for clinic exam rooms and clean/prepare rooms for next client.
• Complete reports and documents; order supplies and vaccines.
• Make referral appointments.

Schedule: This is an in-person position, Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm with occasional rotating coverage for the late clinic (10:00 am –7:00pm) and once-monthly Saturday diabetes clinic, rotating every few months.

Wage Range: $26.25 – $29.40 hourly, Non-Exempt

Position Overview

The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for performing daily administrative tasks as well as assisting in minor clinical procedures to keep clinic running smoothly.

What You Will Do

• Prepare clients for treatment procedures or examinations.
• Obtain pertinent information regarding visit, takes vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure) and record in medical chart, and takes urine samples when indicated.
• Perform or prepare for procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and hearing or vision tests.
• Perform CLIA-waived laboratory tests, such as urinalysis, urine HGB or HCG, rapid strep, and blood glucose.
• Maintain stock supplies for clinic exam rooms.
• Clean examination rooms after each use and prepare room for next client.
• Complete all necessary reports or documents.
• Order supplies and vaccines.
• Make all referral appointments.
