Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience working as a CMA in a healthcare setting.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required.
• Medically cleared for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate daily with the clinical team for patient care.
• Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, and EKGs.
• Communicate clearly with patients and provide education.
• Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, EKGs, blood glucose checks, and other procedures within scope
• Prepare patients for exams by obtaining vital signs, escorting them to exam rooms, and ensuring comfort
• Assist providers and nurses with examinations, treatments, and minor diagnostic procedures
• Administer medications or immunizations, if permitted within scope of practice
• Enter and update medication and immunization histories into electronic medical records (EMR)
• Fax and scan clinical documentation such as prescriptions and referral paperwork in compliance with HIPAA
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked exam room environment and monitor supply inventory
• Communicate clearly with patients, offering education and instructions as directed by clinical staff
• Handle lab specimens safely, ensuring proper labeling and readiness for courier pick-up
• Follow all safety, infection control, and confidentiality protocols, including universal precautions
• Participate in training, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives
• Perform other tasks as assigned that fall within the scope of certified medical assistant practice
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) license
• Current BLS Certification
• Minimum of 1 year experience working as a CMA in a healthcare setting
• Hmong language proficiency required
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and state-mandated liability insurance
• Medically cleared for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations

Desired Qualifications

• Experience working with frail or elderly populations preferred (training provided if not already met)
• Familiarity with safe handling of lab specimens and medical equipment
• Knowledge of medication administration protocols (within CMA scope)
• Ability to remain calm in emergencies and communicate effectively across care teams
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a service-oriented mindset

Location & Work Type

This position is based on-site in a clinic setting, working closely with both patients and the care team in a supportive and community focused environment.
