Job summary

Memorial Bone & Joint Center in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support physicians and nurses with patient assessments, specimen collection, and treatments. This full-time, day-shift position involves clinical and administrative duties to ensure smooth clinic operations.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, graduate from an accredited medical assistant program, and hold a CMA/CCMA/RMA license with BLS within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of accredited medical assisting program or equivalent required.
  • License: CCMA, CMA or RMA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient assessments and treatments under supervision of physicians or nurses.
  • Perform basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
  • Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
  • Document patient care provided and maintain accurate records.
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, examination areas, and procure reorders as needed.
  • Perform clerical duties including scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

How you'll contribute:

A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) who excels in this role:

  • Under the supervision of physicians or nurses, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
  • Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
  • Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
  • Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
Shift:

M-F 8:00A-5:00P

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent Required; Graduate of accredited medical assistance program or equivalent Required
  • License: CCMA, CMA or RMA
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 60 days of hire.
