We have an opening for a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at our OB/GYN practices in West Orange, NJ, and Kearny, NJ.

Under the guidance of Axia Women’s Health protocols and physicians, the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) engages professionally with patients by assisting with care, recording vital information, and providing relevant information to maximize their benefit from our services.

Essential Functions:

1. Adhere to OSHA guidelines and quality control protocols, prepare exam rooms, clean and sterilize equipment.
2. Assist patients to exam/procedure rooms, helping with walking transfers or dressing as needed.
3. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history, vital signs, symptoms, and scan reports into the EMR.
4. Perform venipuncture and specimen collection as needed.
5. Assist providers with procedures and screenings.
6. Relay instructions and information to patients clearly.
7. Complete forms and requisitions for accurate records and billing.
8. Follow confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulations.
9. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Current national Medical Assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, RMA, NCMA).
• CPR certification.
• At least 1 year of recent medical assistant experience or documented internship.
• OB/GYN or Women’s Health experience is preferred.
• Experience with eClinicalWorks EMR is beneficial.
