Job summary

Tenet Healthcare is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to assist the physician with daily operations of the office, maintain efficient patient flow, and support patient care, exams, procedures and education under supervision.

Responsibilities include triage, vitals, documentation of visits, EKG and phlebotomy as applicable. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered to new hires.

Qualifications

• Must have High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program or 3 years relevant work experience in lieu.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification from one of the listed bodies and BLS certification.

Performs triage, monitors and records vitals of all visiting patients. Ensures medical documentation of office visits. Assist with Office and scheduling coordinator in their absence (if necessary).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Others may be assigned.

• Assist physician with the daily operations of the physician’s office
• Maintains efficient patient flow and assists with patient care, i.e. exams, procedures and patient education under the direction and supervision of a physician
• Performs triage, monitors and records vitals of all visiting patients
• Perform EKG and Phlebotomy, as applicable
• Ensures medical documentation of office visits
• Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner

Qualifications

Education:

Required: High school diploma or GED

Required: Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program OR three years of relevant work experience in lieu of completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program

Certification:

Required: Medical Assistant Certification required through one of the following; National Healthcare Association (NHA), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant by the American Medical Technologist (AMT), National Center for Competency Training (NCCT), the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), or Healthcare Professional Registry of the US (HPRUS) (Will allow 90 days to obtain certification)

Required: Current Basic Life Support (BLS)

Experience:

Required: Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school OR three years of relevant work experience in a healthcare setting in lieu of Medical Assistant diploma

Preferred: At least one year of relevant work experience
