Job summary

Mercy Care Atlanta, a Federally Qualified Health Center within Trinity Health, seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support a licensed provider, deliver basic patient assessment, assist in daily clinical operations, and participate in community outreach.

Duties include taking vital signs, assisting adults and geriatric patients, performing phlebotomy and basic labs, helping with EKGs, handling supplies, and supporting wellness events.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required
• CMA certification required
• CPR certification required
• Six months to one year experience in health-related field
• Phlebotomy proficiency
• Knowledge of OSHA/HIPAA/CLIA guidelines

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient assessment procedures, including vital signs and infection control.
• Assist with patient care for adults, geriatric patients, and occasionally infants and adolescents.
• Conduct phlebotomy and basic laboratory procedures.
• Interpret for clients and staff as applicable.
• Monitor and order medical supplies under the guidance of the Nurse Practitioner or Clinic Manager.
• Assist with EKG procedures and other clinical tasks as directed by the medical provider.
• Participate in health fairs or community events on weekends (3-4 times a year).

Description: Position Purpose: The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) works closely under the direction of a licensed provider to deliver high-quality patient care. This role is essential for ensuring a smooth and efficient clinical environment, providing basic patient assessment and support, and assisting in administrative duties. The CMA also participates in community outreach initiatives to promote health and wellness.

What You Will Do:

• Perform basic patient assessment procedures, including vital signs and infection control.
• Assist with patient care for adults, geriatric patients, and occasionally infants and adolescents.
• Conduct phlebotomy and basic laboratory procedures.
• Interpret for clients and staff as applicable.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma required; graduate of a medical technical school preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and CPR certification required.
• Six months to one-year experience in a health-related field.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy and basic lab procedures.
• Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA guidelines.
• Foreign language skills may be required.
• Valid GA driver’s license and safe driving record.
