Job summary

Mercy Care Atlanta is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support licensed providers, perform basic patient assessments, phlebotomy, and assist in clinic operations. The CMA will help maintain a smooth clinical workflow and participate in community outreach events.

Requirements include CMA certification, CPR, a high school diploma, 6–12 months of health-related experience, phlebotomy skills, and knowledge of OSHA/HIPAA/CLIA guidelines. A GA driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required; medical/technical school certification preferred.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and CPR certification required.
  • Six months to one year experience in a health-related field.
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy and basic lab procedures.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA guidelines.
  • Foreign language skills may be required.
  • Valid GA driver’s license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient care for adults, geriatric patients, and occasionally infants and adolescents.
  • Conduct phlebotomy and basic laboratory procedures.
  • Interpret for clients and staff as applicable.
  • Monitor and order medical supplies under the guidance of the Nurse Practitioner or Clinic Manager.
  • Assist with EKG procedures and other clinical tasks as directed by the medical provider.
  • Participate in health fairs or community events on weekends (3-4 times a year).

Position Purpose
