Job summary

Sanitas Medical Centers is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative operations. The role involves assisting with patient care and advanced procedures under the direction of a licensed Independent Provider, preparing patients, and ensuring smooth office workflows.

The CMA will perform vital signs, injections, vaccine administration, specimen collection, EHR data entry, billing and coding support, and prepare for pre-op clearances, while maintaining HIPAA

Qualifications

• Take vital signs, record medical histories, and provide reassurance.
• Prepare exam rooms, organize instruments, and ensure supplies.
• Perform blood draws and administer injections and vaccines per LIP orders.
• Administer medications per orders within scope of practice.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain aseptic technique.
• Use PPE to minimize healthcare-associated infections.
• Manage electronic health records and protect patient confidentiality.
• Assist with billing, coding, and insurance claims processing.
• Coordinate pre-op clearances and referrals.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage follow-ups.
• Prepare informed consent documents and transmit lab specimens.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for examinations and procedures by taking vital signs and recording medical histories.
• Support healthcare providers during patient exams by preparing rooms and ensuring supplies.
• Perform blood draws, injections, vaccines, and minor procedures as ordered.
• Administer medications per orders within CMA scope of practice.
• Maintain aseptic technique and sterilize instruments and rooms.
• Follow PPE protocols to minimize infection risk.
• Safely handle biohazardous waste per protocol.
• Provide basic first aid and assist in emergencies per BLS standards.
• Ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of patient records.
• Enter data into EHR and manage office communications.
• Coordinate referrals, pre-op clearances, and specimen transmission.
