Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Medical Cardiology Group in Pensacola, FL is hiring a Medical Assistant for a day, full-time role Monday through Friday. You will welcome patients, take vital signs, assist with treatments, manage records, and support providers with documentation and orders.

A high school diploma or equivalent and a current Medical Assistant credential or BLS are required. Competitive benefits provided.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming and interviewing patients, accurately measuring and documenting vital signs, and preparing examination rooms for a smooth visit.
• Assisting with treatments as directed and supervised by the providers.
• Performing select clinical duties and providing essential administrative support, including managing patient records, answering calls, and charting.
• Documenting provider-patient encounters, listing diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
• Transcribing patient orders for lab work, testing, and medications.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

1 year of medical assistant experience.
