Novant Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for our OB/GYN clinic in Charlotte, NC. The role involves patient intake, chart preparation, and assisting providers with exams and procedures, while maintaining accurate EMR documentation.

Candidates must hold CMA/CCMA/RMA/AMT certification or obtain within 6 months of hire, with preferred experience in a medical office and strong communication and organizational skills. A supportive team environment awaits.

• Current certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience preferred in a medical office.
• Excellent documentation and EMR proficiency preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform patient intake, including vital signs and medical history.
• Prepare patients and charts for provider visits.
• Assist providers with OBGYN exams, procedures, and treatments within scope.
• Administer medications and immunizations as ordered.
• Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, and in-office lab testing.
• Document care and code visits, labs, and procedures in the EMR.
• Support referrals, scheduling, registration, and check-out as needed.
• Collaborate with providers to improve workflows and patient experience.

What You'll Do

• Perform and document patient intake, including vital signs and medical history
• Prepare patients and charts for provider visits
• Assist providers with OBGYN exams, procedures, and treatments within scope

What We're Looking For

Education

High School or GED, required. Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including:

• CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
• CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA)
• RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
• American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA)
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
• National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
• American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)

If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.

Experience

Previous work in a medical office, preferred.

Licensure/Certification

Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required

Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required

Additional Skills/Requirements (required)

Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
