Job summary

Duke Health in Durham, NC is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join the Harris and Smith at Patterson Place clinic. You will be an integral member of the healthcare team, providing direct and indirect care to patients and supporting the nursing staff in a fast-paced OB-GYN setting.

The role requires completion of an accredited MA program, certification by one of the listed boards, and BLS. Scheduling is Monday through Friday days, with no weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.
• BLS certification required.
• Level II requires 1 year of clinical MA experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, provide and document nursing care following physician orders.
• Collect and analyze patient data and report to physicians as needed.
• Perform in-clinic testing of urine and blood samples with lab equipment.
• Collaborate with RN to revise care plans based on patient needs.
• Maintain a clean, organized exam environment and assist other staff.
• Identify opportunities to improve clinical, operational and safety performance.
• Participate in clinic compliance activities and education planning.
