Job summary

Duke Primary Care in Holly Springs seeks to hire a Certified Medical Assistant to join the interdisciplinary health team and support patient care in a busy clinic.

The CMA performs routine administrative and clinical duties, including assisting physicians, taking vitals, preparing patients for exams, handling specimens, and supporting the patient flow. A CMA credential is required with relevant clinical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred.
• High school or GED graduation required for Levels I–III.

Responsibilities

• Administrative duties: answer phones, greet patients, update/file records, insurance forms, scheduling, and billing tasks.
• Clinical duties: take histories and vital signs, assist during examinations, collect specimens, perform basic lab tests, and prepare patients for procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician; manage telephone prescriptions to a pharmacy.
• Maintain sterility and safety, dispose of waste, and document care in the patient record.
