Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current and unrestricted license to practice in North Carolina.
• BLS Certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to deal with the public in a courteous manner.
• Must be detailed oriented.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Record patient data, vital signs, chief complaint, allergy history.
• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers.
• Perform routine lab tests or refer to lab as needed.
• Maintain clean, sterile workstations per OSHA.
• Document data in patient records.
• Provide patient education and call pharmacy for refills.
• Perform patient triage when needed.
