Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support dermatology clinics in California. The role involves rooming patients, documenting vital signs, scribing for the dermatologist, and assisting during procedures.

You will perform tasks such as post-op wound care, blood draws, and suture removal, while maintaining clean, stocked exam rooms and scheduling appointments. Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma, medical support training, and CMA/LPN/RN credentials preferred,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Post-high school medical support education preferred.
• CMA/LPN/RN certification or license preferred.
• 1+ years experience in a medical office is preferred.
• Willingness to travel to other clinic locations.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and document vital information.
• Scribe information for the dermatologist.
• Provide post-op wound care to patients.
• Draw blood and perform suture removal.
• Clean and stock exam rooms.
• Schedule patient appointments.
• Assist dermatologist with procedures such as biopsies, Mohs surgery, injections, and derm treatments.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments

• Surgical photographs
• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Post High School education in a medical support field:

Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse is strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team

For this position, the base pay range is $23.50 - $24.50 per hour. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education, certification, or training.
