Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant to support dermatology visits in a fast-paced setting.

The role involves rooming patients, documenting vitals, scribing for the dermatologist, drawing blood, wound care, and assisting with dermatology procedures. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office preferred.
• Must keep state certifications, licenses or registrations current.
• Willingness to travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• Proficiency with computers including Office and EMR systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and document vital information.
• Scribe information for the dermatologist.
• Provide post-op wound care to patients.
• Draw blood and suture removal.
• Clean and stock exam rooms.
• Schedule patient appointments.
• Assist the dermatologist with procedures such as biopsies, Mohs surgery, phototherapy, injections, and more.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments

Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:

• Surgical photographs
• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Post High School education in a medical support field:

Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse is strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
