Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant in Pensacola, FL. The CMA assists the dermatologist during visits, rooms patients, and supports post-operative wound care in a fast-paced dermatology practice.

Active CMA certification or RN/LPN preference is noted. The role involves scribing, drawing blood, managing exam rooms, and coordinating appointments in a patient-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a medical office setting preferred.
• Must maintain current state certifications, licenses and registrations.
• Willingness to travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• Proficiency with computers including EMR systems and MS Office.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with staff, patients, and visitors.
• Ability to multi-task and work well both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and document vital information.
• Scribe information for the dermatologist.
• Provide post-op wound care to patients.
• Draw blood and perform suture removal.
• Clean and stock exam rooms.
• Schedule patient appointments.
• Assist the dermatologist with procedures such as surgical photography, biopsies, excisions, electrodessication and curettage, I&D, Mohs surgery, phototherapy, injections, Koh preps, trichograms, Tzank preps, dermabrasion, patch testing, and blue light.

The Certified Medical Assistant is essential during the patient visit, accompanying the dermatologist in the room and promoting a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists.

Schedule

Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments

Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:

• Surgical photographs
• Biopsies - punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Post High School education in a medical support field:

Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse is strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
