Pride Health is hiring a skilled certified medical assistant (CMA) to support our client at the Round Rock, TX medical facility. This is a 10-week contract with the possibility of an extension, providing a great opportunity to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization.

1. Performs all duties within the scope of a Medical Assistant's practice.
2. Operates diagnostic equipment (cannot interpret tests), removes staples from superficial wounds, changes wound dressing and obtains cultures, administers non-intravenous medication, performs simple specimen collection via noninvasive techniques and collects blood specimens via venipuncture or capillary, performs EKGs.
3. Performs quality control checks on equipment.
4. Prepares and sterilizes medical equipment using the autoclave.
5. Rooms patients according to policy and procedures, and prepares patients for examination.
6. Records patient care documentation in the medical record accurately and promptly.
7. Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians, company standards, and policies.
8. Respects patient confidentiality always and treats patients with courtesy and respect.
9. Organizes exam and treatment rooms, stocks and cleans rooms, and sterilizes instruments.
10. Practices standard infection control precautions.
11. Conducts telephone and in-person screening for intake and information gathering without requiring clinical judgment.
12. Supports and follows Standard Delegation of Orders (SDO).

Must have Skills/Qualifications/Education/Work Experience:

1. 2+ Years working as a medical assistant.
2. Active CMA/RMA/CCMA certification.
3. Maintain current BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
4. High school diploma.
5. Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
6. Ability to use fine motor skills to operate equipment and machinery.
7. Ability to receive and understand instructions verbally and in writing.
8. Logical reasoning skills for problem solving.
9. Occasional exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
10. Ability to discriminate shades of color when reading dipsticks.

Additional Information:

• Job Duration: 10 weeks
• Shifts: Monday-Friday, Day Shift
• Hourly Pay: $20 - $22/hour
