Job summary

NorthWest EMS is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for the Heart and Vascular Center Robinson in Pittsburgh, PA. The role involves rooming patients, taking vital signs, reviewing medication lists and histories, collecting specimens, basic lab tests, injections, and other clinical tasks as directed by the provider.

Administrative duties include ordering supplies, maintaining medical records, obtaining referrals/authorizations and scheduling appointments.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant Certification (AAMA CMA, AMT RMA, NHA CCMA, NCCT NCMA, or NAHP NRCMA).
• CPR Certification.
• Successful completion of clearances within 90 days of commencing employment.

Office location: Heart and Vascular Center Robinson 2201 Park Manor Blvd. Suite 500 Pittsburgh, PA 15205
Work hours: Monday - Friday daylight, no weekends, no major holidays

Rooms patients, collects vital signs, review patient medication list and patient medical/social history, collects specimens and performs basic laboratory tests, administers injections and medications as directed by provider in addition to other clinical tasks. Administrative duties include ordering supplies, updating/maintaining medical records, obtaining referrals/authorizations and scheduling appointments.

REQUIRED

High School graduate or equivalent. Medical Assistant Certification (i.e., AAMA CMA, AMT RMA, NHA CCMA, NCCT NCMA, or NAHP NRCMA), CPR Certification, Computer experience, Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

PREFERRED

Medical Assistant diploma or degree program. Minimum of one year medical assisting experience. Proficient in venipuncture.
