Sentara Medical Group Foot and Ankle Leigh Clinic is seeking to hire a Medical Assistant in Norfolk, VA. This role provides patient care and administrative support under supervision of physicians and mid-level staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year of clinical or administrative experience.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care and administrative/clerical tasks as delegated by the Physician, NP/PA, RN, or LPN.
• Assist with procedures and maintain clinic flow under supervision.

"The Foot and Ankle MA is provided the opportunity for advancement within the group by pursuing Rad Tech-Limited licensure when the course is offered though out each year. Foot & Ankle has a unique MA/RT-Limited position and job title for this role which does come with a pay increase once licensure has been obtained".

Overview

Perform patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program

Certification/Licensure
